I am Michelle, a featured and award-winning London Ontario Wedding Photographer. I fell in love with photography when I was 16 years old in my high school photography class and have my amazing teacher to thank for kick starting the passion I have for this business I have built.
Β
Behind the camera, I am married to my high school sweetheart, spend my days with my little corgi Samson and a collector of cute pins! In my spare time, I love to cuddle up on the couch and binge watch Ru Paul's Drag Race or read a good fantasy romance novel!
Back in 2013, at the age of 21 and a year after graduating from the Fanshawe College Photography Program, I began Michelle A Photography out of my childhood bedroom (complete with super cool dolphin poster)!
Β
A mere 3 months later, I photographed my very first wedding under my own business. I immediately fell in love with everything!! I worked several retail jobs until I ended up laid off in the winter of 2015 (R.I.P. Future Shop). From there, I threw everything I had into my business. In 2016, I went 100% full-time and have been capturing weddings ever since!
As a Wedding Photographer, I get to be a part of a once in a lifetime day and photograph so many precious memories. But most importantly, I get to capture unique relationships and document them for years to come!
Β
I married my High School Sweetheart on a sunny spring day in an outdoor ceremony surrounded by our closest friends and family. Precious moments in our relationship were included in so many ways.
Β
Our corgi Samson was included with a little bowtie. Our first dance was to the same song he asked me to be his girlfriend too. Our cake topper was a scene from our favourite show and we entered our reception to one of our favourite songs. All things that were so uniquely us!
Β
Because of this, I am a believer in true love and finding that one person who compliments your quirks. I found mine at 17 and now I get to participate in wedding days that are one of a kind!

If you see me spinning around in a park...no you didnβtπ€£
Years ago, I saw this cool lighting trick on Instagram. I canβt remember who I saw it from so apologies for not giving credit...but it has been life changing!
And itβs super easy, even people taking cellphone photos can benefit from this simple trick.
All you are going to do it stick your hand out in front of you and spin slowly around. As you can see in the first half of the video, you can tell how the light is going to look on your subject based on how it looks in your palm.
This trick is especially great on overcast days because even though it looks like all the lighting is even...itβs actually not.
PSA...you will look like a weirdo but well worth it for awesome photos!βπ»

Looking for a sign to schedule golden hour/sunset photos on your wedding day?
This is it!
Esther and Dinkar had the most gorgeous golden hour on their wedding day last October. Their portraits are some of my faves from their wedding day, just look at that golden goodness!π
Some golden hour wedding tips...
π Check what time the sunset is on the day of your wedding. Golden hour is usually around 30 minutes before the full sunset.
π Consult your photographer, they will be able to help find the best location and finalize timing for your golden hour portraits.
π Carve out time in your timeline so you donβt miss it. Golden hour is quick, make sure to space speeches and dinner so that you have the time to sneak out when your photographer suggests.
Michelle A Photography is now booking 2025 (select dates) and 2026 weddings!

I asked my husband what he would tell couples wedding planning...
For context, Tylor and I have been married for almost 8 years and have been together for almost 16. We got married in May of 2017 and I made sure that the planning was a joint effort so that it was both of our day not just mine!
This is what he saidππ»
1. Donβt make a snap decision on your wedding venue.
We did love our venue, but there were certain things that werenβt ideal leading up to our day and on the day of. We also didnβt look at multiple venues because I was in the industry and had seen so many venues, I liked ours because I had never photograhed there. We made a snap decision on our venue when we could have looked around more.
2. Prioritize. Spend the $$ on the things that mean the most to you.
Obviously for me this was photography which Tylor agreed with. Of course, food, decor and cake are all lovely but at the end of your wedding all you will have left are the photos and video!
3. Get a coordinator!
She paid attention to all the little things we didnβt have time for. She kept us on time, stayed on top of every aspect of our wedding and made sure every thing we didnβt even know about was taken care of before it became an issue.
4. Try to do it debt free.
We managed to pay for our entire wedding debt free. This is not meant to shame anyone! But for us, it was important to be able to pay for our wedding without debt. For full transparency, we spent approx. $18,000 on our wedding almost 8 years ago.
What are your thoughts on these wedding planning points? Let me know in the comments!ππ»

When your bestie asks you to capture family photos for them the obvious answer is HECK YES!
Last May, my bestie Cassie from @hopeharbourphotography asked me to capture some updated family photos while her mom was in town. I am so excited to share all the golden hour goodness today.
